About OCN NI

The Open College Network Northern Ireland (OCN NI) is a UK recognised Awarding Organisation based in Northern Ireland. They are regulated by CCEA Regulation to develop and award regulated professional and technical (vocational) qualifications from Entry Level up to and including Level 5 across all sector areas. In addition, OCN NI is also regulated by Ofqual to award similar qualifications in England.

They are both an educational charity and an Awarding Organisation that advances education by developing nationally recognised qualifications and recognising the achievements of adults and young people.

The challenge

OCN NI

“Before adopting secure Certificates, OCN NI had been using a local printer with no real security measures built into the certificates. Our main form of security was a QR code which was printed when producing our certificates from our learner registration and awards system.

We recognised the certificates could be open to replication, with the only source of additional security being the QR code which could have been missed by those wishing to authorise a certificate.”

OCN NI’s experience

Using our solutions

“We have had a very positive experience working with Advanced Secure. From certificate design through to production and distribution by Advanced Secure we have had a great experience. We would recommend working with Advanced Secure to other like-minded organisations.”

The main benefits of adopting our Secure Papers

“The main benefit is having secure certificates that are not able to be reproduced or copied by other providers. Another benefit is having a number of certificates sitting in a secure location that can be accessed very quickly meaning we would not be in a position to be without certificates.

The account management is also excellent with reminders when stock is running low, and updates on posting/shipping always available.”
