Securing Qualifications: Celebrating 20 Years of Stopping Fraud

As we mark our 20th anniversary and our 17th year as FAB’s platinum partner for certification, we are honoured to have been once again Headline Sponsor of this year’s Conference.

A Premier Event for Awarding Bodies

The FAB Conference, Exhibition, and Awards is the industry’s flagship event, offering delegates the chance to learn from top experts and participate in diverse workshops. The annual awards dinner is a highlight, celebrating the outstanding contributions of awarding organisations and their teams to UK education and skills. This year, we proudly presented the Innovation of the Year Award to Ascentis, recognising their impactful and innovative contributions to the sector.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!

Commitment to Security and Excellence

Our long-standing partnership with FAB reflects our commitment to protecting qualifications from fraud, and we do this by delivering The Best & Most Secure Certification Technologies to our customers.

The Importance of Secure Qualifications

Secure qualifications are crucial for individuals seeking employment, further education or new career paths as they validate skills and knowledge, ensuring industry standards are met.

As highlighted in a recent FE Week article, “There is a risk of malpractice in all qualifications, but those required for licences, jobs, or immigration status are particularly vulnerable to fraud. This can include fake certificates, expedited training, and cheating during tests.”

The threat of qualification fraud is persistent. Our priority is to raise awareness and develop innovative solutions to prevent this issue. Ofqual’s Deputy Chief Regulator recently stated, “We don’t expect qualification fraud to disappear overnight. But, together, we will make the qualifications system more secure, eliminating opportunities for fraudsters and ensuring swift and severe penalties.”

Ofqual’s new fraud prevention policy reinforces our commitment, highlighting the need for robust systems and processes to protect the integrity of qualifications.
